Commercial concrete
Sidewalks, curbs, floors and gutters for businesses and municipalities
Sidewalks, curbs, floors and gutters for businesses and municipalities, with excavation, concrete removal and site work handled in house.
Sidewalks, curbs and gutters
The concrete a business or a municipality depends on is mostly the unglamorous kind: the sidewalk people walk on, the curb that edges the lot, the gutter that carries water off it. Distinctive Stone & Concrete pours all three across Syracuse and Central New York.
These are long, straight, repeated runs, which makes the ground under them as important as the surface on top. The crew handles the excavation and site work as part of the same job, so the line is cut, graded and poured by one team instead of passed between trades.

Floors for working buildings
Commercial work also means floors. The same crew that pours basement, garage and barn floors for homeowners installs, repairs and maintains concrete floors for businesses, with a power trowel finishing the larger pours.
Floors in a working building are only as good as the slab beneath them. That is why every pour is rebar-reinforced and a minimum of 4000 PSI, whether the building belongs to a family or a company.
Cleared out first, then poured
Replacement work starts with taking the old surface out. Distinctive Stone & Concrete does the excavation, the concrete removal and the site work itself, so a commercial job does not begin with a search for a demolition contractor and a separate paving contractor.
For a business, a municipality or a property manager, one crew from the first cut to the final finish means one person to call and one schedule to follow.

Commercial work here is held to the same standard as residential: the same rebar and 4000 PSI minimum that goes under a homeowner’s patio goes under a commercial pour, and the estimate is free and done on site.
Distinctive Stone & Concrete has worked from Central Square since 2002, and the crew covers Syracuse and the towns around it. See the service area page to check yours. The office is open Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, at (315) 676-0005.
Fresh sidewalks and curbs need the same care as any new slab, and in this region that means no ice melt: the concrete care guide says to use sand for traction, calcium chloride only if you must, and plastic shovels. For floors on the residential side, see floors, pads and garage coatings, or concrete driveways for the other long run of flatwork. To describe a job, use the contact page.
