Sealed against salt, thaw and sun, then sealed again

Acrylic, urethane or siloxane sealers rated from 3 to 5 years up to 10, with the option to recolour stamped concrete while it is resealed.

Acrylic, urethane or siloxane

Sealer is not one product. We work with acrylic, urethane and siloxane sealers, and the right one depends on the slab, how it is used and how long you want a coat to hold. Sealers run from about 3 to 5 years at the short end up to 10 years at the long end.

We have more than 20 years of concrete sealing experience, and we'd rather match the sealer to your concrete than sell the same coat on everything. Tell us what you have, patio, driveway, walkway or pool deck, and we'll recommend from there.

Resealing stamped concrete, and changing its colour

A stamped patio or walkway that has been through a few Central New York winters can look tired well before the concrete itself is. Resealing brings the pattern back, and we can recolour stamped concrete at the same time, so a faded surface can come back richer than it was.

The same applies to work we didn't pour. We seal in Clay and across the Syracuse area, and an estimate on a slab you already own is free and done on site.

Sealer is what meets the salt

A sealer protects concrete against freeze-thaw, moisture, UV and de-icing salts, which is the list of things a Syracuse winter throws at a slab. That is why timing matters, and why the schedule starts early: reseal after the first winter, then about every three years depending on sun and traffic.

We recommend an anti-skid additive on reseals. Ask us about it when you book, and we'll walk through which sealer and which finish fit the surface.

When to reseal

After the first winter
First reseal on new concrete, once it has seen a full cycle of freeze, thaw and salt.
About every 3 years
Then reseal on that rhythm, sooner on slabs in full sun or under heavy traffic.
Every reseal
An anti-skid additive is recommended, and stamped concrete can be recoloured at the same visit.

Winter rules for sealed concrete

The sealer only works if the winter is kind to it. The rest of the routine is on our concrete care page.

  • Never use ice melt on new or stamped concrete.
  • If you must use something, calcium chloride only, and only if needed.
  • Sand is the better choice for traction.
  • Clear snow with plastic shovels, never metal.

Resealing pairs with stamped concrete, the driveways we pour, and a concrete overlay over a worn slab. Call (315) 676-0005 for a free estimate in Clay, Cicero, Baldwinsville and across Central New York, or ask about financing.
