Stamped concrete, poured to read as stone, brick or wood
Natural stone, brick and wood-look patterns in custom colours for patios, walkways, entryways, pool decks and firepit surrounds, sealed against freeze-thaw, moisture, UV and de-icing salt.
Stone, brick or wood, pressed into one pour
Stamped concrete is poured as a single slab and given its pattern while it is still workable, so a patio can read as natural stone, brick or wood without a loose piece anywhere underneath it. At Distinctive Stone & Concrete the pattern is chosen to suit the house, and the colour is custom, so the field and its border can be set against each other instead of left at one flat grey.
The same work covers what customers ask for as decorative concrete: stone, brick or slate-look patios, pool decks and entryways, with custom colours, patterns and textures. If you are weighing those looks against each other, call (315) 676-0005 and we will talk them through before the estimate.

Sealed against freeze-thaw, moisture, UV and road salt
A stamped surface in Syracuse and Central New York has a hard life: water gets in, freezes and thaws, the summer sun bakes the colour, and winter salt works at the face. Every slab is reinforced with solid rebar at a minimum of 4000 PSI, then sealed against freeze-thaw, moisture, UV and de-icing salt.
The sealer is maintenance, not a one-time event. Sealers run from 3 to 5 years up to 10, in acrylic, urethane or siloxane, and the first reseal comes after the first winter, then about every three years depending on sun and traffic. Resealing is also the moment a faded stamped surface can be recoloured.
Keep ice melt off it. If you have to use something, use calcium chloride, prefer sand for traction, and shovel with plastic.
Patios, walkways, entries, pool decks and firepit surrounds
Stamped concrete goes anywhere a plain slab would, and it earns its keep where people stop and look: the patio off the back door, the front walkway, an entryway, a pool deck, a fireplace, or the ring around a firepit.
The work is residential and commercial. For a pool deck that wants a plainer, brushed texture instead of a pattern, broom-finish concrete is the alternative, and either one is poured over the same excavated, reinforced base.
The crew works out of Central Square and covers Syracuse, Cicero, Clay, Baldwinsville, Brewerton, Bridgeport and North Syracuse. Estimates are free and done on site; (315) 676-0005 reaches the office Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.

What does a stamped patio need after the pour?
Time first: stay off new concrete for 24 hours, keep furniture off for 72 hours and vehicles off for 5 days. Some blotchy discoloration is normal while it cures. The full routine is on the caring for concrete page.
Down the road, a faded or tired stamped surface does not have to come out. A new coat of concrete sealing can recolour it, and a worn or cracked slab can be resurfaced with a stamped concrete overlay instead of being torn out. Projects up to $25,000 can be financed through Wisetack, subject to credit approval.
